Weighting Grant Evaluation Questions
We need to improve our evaluation process, and it has become obvious we need to weigh evaluation questions. As it stands now, rating questions on a scale of is helpful, but this does a poor job of weeding out bias. For example, I am seeing that even if there is a significant governance issue in an applying organization, (something that is a deal breaker to qualify for funding) the application still may score relatively well because the program is great, and these evaluation points are valued as equal. This creates bias towards giving everyone a grant.
I see in Idea Lab several organizations are using tools outside of Foundant to overcome this problem, and there are ways to use formulas in the GLM reporting tool, but If anyone would be willing to share a rubric, I would be grateful to hear from you!
