Scholarship Evaluation: does your committee meet in person or just score via SLM?

Options

We currently have one scholarship committee that meets in person a few times prior to evaluation, then meets after they evaluate applicants. Our scholarship program is growing so we may need to add additional scholarship committees, but don't necessarily have the capacity to hold more committee meetings. Do any of your organizations have evaluators that simply score the applicants online without meeting in person. If so, can you discuss the pros and cons? What makes this successful (or not) for your organization? Thanks!
