Emergency scholarship funds

Good morning,

Do any of you provide scholarship students with emergency funds (funds for living expenses, emergency school expenses, etc.)? If so, what is your process like? What are the pros and cons of a program like this?

Robin, our Foundation provides emergency assistance to Virginia Western Community College students for most all needs except tuition and credit card payments. Over the years, we have refined our process/application so it is not a burden for students to submit. We are able to turn around requests within 24-48 hrs.

@MikedeHilster was a big help creating our SLM emergency fund application from our former internal application we had used for years.
