Site Visit
Hello!
Our Foundation is implementing site visits. We are considering a couple of different avenues in what the goal is with them, either taking the place of a report that they now complete on our grant portal within the year of receiving funds or a more informational approach, both with the main focus of relationship building with the area nonprofit leaders, boards, and staff.
Would anyone like to share resources of the questions they ask organizations in either capacity of reporting or informational?
Thank you!

I like the idea of making the site visit a "report." When I was first sent to conduct site visits, I think the grantees were thinking I was there as sort of an inspector to enforce regulations! I've learned to approach with the attitude I'm here to celebrate the success of your work and maybe also identify struggles and if there are other areas where the Foundation might offer future support. This approach has made all the difference in the world, and everyone wants a site visit! Our format is not structured. We do not have a question list per se, but I review the project goals and deliverables and discuss these with the awardee or representative when I'm at the site and/or sponsored event. The site visits have contributed significantly to building positive relationships. Good luck! I hope this is helpful.

Following. Our ED visits a lot but mostly to present the big check. A follow up visit might be helpful.
