Scholarship Criteria
Good morning,
We are in the process of reviewing scholarship fund agreements. We have several scholarships that list criteria like high moral character, worthy citizen, constructive attitude, potential for future success, etc.
Our scholarship process is blind (student names are redacted from the application) and we have a scholarship committee at each public high school in the county. Some reviewers struggle with with the criteria above with a blind process.
Have any of you worked to define criteria like the ones listed above? Did you work on exercising variance power to change the fund agreement?
Any ideas or tips would be helpful!
Thank you!

Hi Robin! Did you ever come up with criteria to use for those types of requirements. We are setting up a new scholarship and the donor wants one of the criteria to be "demonstrates good character". Trying to figure out how we would set up criteria to evaluate that or if I should encourage them to consider other alternatives for criteria.
Thank you!

Hi Sarah,
We decided to change our SLM evaluation for the criteria mentioned above. Here is an example:
Criteria below are subjective and difficult to measure. Please use your best judgement when evaluating the student's application.
- Potential for future success
- Ability to relate well to others
- Constructive attitude
- Demonstrated high moral character
Thank you,
