Illinois

edited October 2020 in Regional Chats

Looking to connect with grant and program staff at community foundations in Illinois! I have added several contacts who I've chatted with already so we can keep the conversation going about grantmaking strategies and ideas for innovation.

My role is the Director of Program Services at The Community Foundation for McHenry County. I'm responsible for our GLM, SLM and support our nonprofit partners in the community.

  • Hi @LyndseyThompson! Welcome to Compass! I joined Foundant when I moved back to Bozeman after living in Chicago (Loop) for almost 11 years. There are so many great foundations in IL!

  • Hi @KaraAdams! Yes there are! I'm new to our foundation, but not new to NFPs, and have started meeting some of our amazing changemakers in the county. With our NFP partners, we have the ability to do amazing things for our community!

  • Congrats! I am currently unemployed and lives in Africa. I can work remotely in any role relating to Project management, HRM, Finance and procurement. Very nice to e-meet all and learn from your vast experiences. Part of my profile is here.....but can find me on LinkedIn.com/Facebook etc.

  • Hi @SylvesterThomas! You may also want to share your information in our Jobs & Services category.

I think you might win the award for "Compass member who lives farthest from Foundant HQ"!

  • I just wanted to say "Hi" and "let me know what you need" to everyone in Illinois. I'm currently Foundant's sole employee in Illinois but I did hear that may be changing soon.

  • Good morning everyone!

We are nearing the 'completion' of a full transition to Foundant's solutions here at the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois, and as the initial 'migration' fires simmer down, I look forward to having more time to devote to the Foundant Community. I am the Director of Finance here, and have been counting these beans for 12 years.

@LyndseyThompson - our grants team worked on a similar document purge about a year ago, I will pose your question and see if they have any insight...

We at CFNIL have also been pretty active over the years in the Alliance of Illinois Community Foundations and it has proven a great resource if anyone here is not already familiar, check out their website: https://allianceilcf.org/

    Looking forward to collaborating!
