My role is the Director of Program Services at The Community Foundation for McHenry County. I'm responsible for our GLM, SLM and support our nonprofit partners in the community.

Alright colleagues, time to put our collective knowledge to use! I'm hoping at least one person has come across information about this or knows where I can locate policies regarding this.
Q: How long is a Foundation required to keep scholarship applications once they are submitted? We're moving to a new building in the next couple of weeks and have tons of scholarship files, both accepted and declined. I read somewhere that you have to keep both the accepted and declined for at least 3 years, but this was in another state. Any knowledge on the ruling in IL?

Good morning everyone!
We are nearing the 'completion' of a full transition to Foundant's solutions here at the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois, and as the initial 'migration' fires simmer down, I look forward to having more time to devote to the Foundant Community. I am the Director of Finance here, and have been counting these beans for 12 years.
@LyndseyThompson - our grants team worked on a similar document purge about a year ago, I will pose your question and see if they have any insight...
