Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Donor Management Coffee Talk: Stewardship Strategies for New Donors in The New Normal today!

We loved hearing about what you are all doing: that a few of you are having big year-end returns from your direct mailings, some fantastic virtual tour ideas for engaging your donors, using video in new ways and getting board members to participate, and sometimes the good old-fashioned phone call is still the winner.

We had a few requests for our colleagues who raised their hands and shared their projects with us to share some example letters and language they used. We are creating this discussion space here to continue the conversation.

Please share your own thoughts and examples even if you didn't raise your hand today, we'd love to hear more about what you all are doing!

HUGE thank you to Wendy Hall, board member, and Joseph Teipel, executive director, at Chaffee County Community Foundation for sharing their communications encouraging folks to donate their stimulus payments to help others in their community. They shared this sample email message and also a little bit about the process and success of awareness:

The foundation issued checks directly to individuals and families, via an application process through DHS. DHS verified residency status and loss of work/income due to the pandemic. The foundation also received great press coverage in the local newspaper and radio stations for this work.
