East Tennessee Foundation (ETF) is a public charity and community foundation confirmed in compliance with National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations, created by and for the people of East Tennessee to build permanent charitable resources for its 25-county service area. ETF’s vision is thriving communities powered by thoughtful giving coupled with the mission to provide philanthropic leadership inspiring donors to make lives better and communities stronger in enduring ways across generations. ETF’s work is built on the values of trust, relationships, donor intent, respect, generosity, and diversity.
The Foundation seeks a visionary servant leader with the ability to cultivate a broad range of collaborative professional relationships with prospective donors, community leaders, staff, board, and other philanthropic and charitable entities within and beyond the region. The ideal leader may come from a variety of career fields in either the for-profit or not-for-profit sectors and will have had significant experience with organizations involved in building philanthropic assets and advancing community improvement. The President & CEO will boldly lead by example, building a sphere of influence to strengthen the East Tennessee region. Candidates must have demonstrated skills in strategic leadership, financial stewardship, team management, and organizational administration as well as a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Candidates must have a passion for philanthropy and relationship building as well as the ability to empower and inspire the community, its people, and its institutions. The leadership of the President & CEO will demonstrate the power to convene, inform, and galvanize leaders and constituents in all sectors resulting in an overall positive and lasting impact.
Compensation in the form of salary, benefits, and performance bonuses is competitive with comparable community foundations throughout the Southeastern United States and highly competitive with non-profit compensation in East Tennessee.
