Cybersecurity Awareness Month - "Do Your Part. Be Cyber Smart"

Cybersecurity Awareness Month was launched by the National Cyber Security Alliance and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in October 2004 as a broad effort to help all Americans stay safer and more secure online.

I am sharing a resources that I am using for additional internal cyber security awareness training in hopes that it might inspire you to share with your teams and organizations.

The click rate on harmful links is over 30%

Not everything is as it seems.

Harmless looking links or attachments could contain dangerous malware, that can take your device hostage, or spread through the corporate network and launch attacks against colleagues, customers and suppliers. Shut the door on malware.

Do Your Part. #BeCyberSmart.

  • Over three billion phishing messages are sent every day

Not everything is as it seems.

Phishing attacks, delivered through email, text, voice and social media are carefully designed to look and sound credible. They lure unsuspecting victims into parting with their valuable personal information or installing malicious software.

Beat the phishing bait by adhering to strong security practices, increasing community awareness and educating the vulnerable.

A hacker attack happens every 39 seconds.

The boundaries between work, social and home lives have blurred, while consumption of technology and the Internet has increased exponentially.

In an interconnected and cyber risky world, stronger security practices, increased community awareness and educating the vulnerable are the keys to cyber safety.

    Do your part. #BeCyberSmart.
