Two Part Issue

I am really excited to use this tool, but I am not confident in the data it's pulling (likely due to something I am doing wrong). Before trying to create graphs, charts, etc. I am attempting to create a simple table of all requests (ie. applications) based on a filtered list of processes.

The first problem is: I want to have the applicants name and the request status as fields in the table but the SLM Request dataset does not include name and the application dataset does include request status. So I attempted a work around that lead me to the second issue…

When I create a table from the application dataset and attempt to add request status from the other request dataset it appears to work but I am getting duplicate/extra applicants that do not have a request. There is a RequestGUID pulling in from the application dataset but the RequestGUID is blank from the request dataset (see below). These applicants are being added to the data being pulled into charts, graphs, etc. which results in incorrect data.

I know that I can remove these through filters but would rather find a way to clean them up but I can find anyway to do so.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @AmandaHicks that's really interesting! And I can see it being useful for others. I don't have an answer without looking at the dashboard, but I think you should share this during one of the workshops, if you can attend. I don't think you'll be the only one trying to build something like this.

If you would like, you can also reach out to our support team for more immediate help!

Hi @AmandaHicks thanks for sharing this. As Marius highlighted, we would love to dig in more on a workshop or with support, but a quick piece so I can do some investigation as well. Knowing you are pulling SLM data, do you use the Universal Application feature? If so, I think that could also be part of the culprit.

Thank you both for your responses. We are not using the UA, and I think this is happening because of deleted requests. It appears that the system is storing remnants of data from these deleted requests, and I can't figure out a way (other than filtered) to actually remove the data.

  • Good morning, Jumping in because I am interested in a similar question with SLM (non UA).

How do we go about linking tables? I want to capture data from SLM_Requests and use SLM_Applications fields to filter the data. Also waiting on the group field feature to fully utilize. Thank you in advance.

@KathleenWesthaver This is a tricky one because some of that data may not be naturally linked across. That being said, this may be one of those scenarios where you want to use the "Request GUID" as a column in one of the tables you are building to help link the data together. I would give that a shot!
