Certificates in Grant Writing and Management
Hi Everyone,
Hope all is well. Happy Friday!
I am new to a grants manager position and was wondering if there were any certificates that I could take or helpful resources.
Anything helps.
Just looking to obtain more knowledge so I can help the people I serve in the best way :)

Our profession has some great credentialing programs! (Note a description of credentialing certificates vs certificates of completion here: https://www.grantcredential.org/why-certify/certification-vs-certificate-of-completion/ )
The first program I recommend is the Grant Professional Certified (GPC) administered by the Grant Professionals Certification Institute. https://www.grantcredential.org/ This is the only accredited credential for grant professionals. https://www.grantcredential.org/why-certify/gpc-accredited/ It is the most comprehensive with an ethics competency and professionalism competency included. https://www.grantcredential.org/the-exam/competencies-tested/ It focuses primarily on pre-award, but has a post-award grants management competency as well.
The second credentialing program I recommend is the Certified Grants Management Specialist (CGMS) administered by the National Grants Management Association. It focuses primarily on post-award though it has some basic pre-award items. https://ngma.memberclicks.net/assets/docs/2020%20CGMS%20Handbook.pdf It is heavily weighted toward federal grants management, but many of the concepts are applicable as best practices in grants management whether you have federal funding or not. https://www.ngma.org/how-to-earn-your-credential
