DISASTER RELIEF TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE GRANT?
We are preparing for the upcoming drought/fire season here in Oregon and interested in creating a Technical Assistance Grant program for rural communities and Tribal nations in Oregon who have declared a disaster due to drought or wildfire.
We understand there is an issue for these communities to hire/navigate the federal application system and there are specialized grant writers who can assist with this work. We would like to offer the opportunity for these communities to be able to apply for a grant in order to hire a grant-writer to apply for federal/state funding.
Has anyone offered this kind of technical assistance funding opportunity? Would appreciate any connections, best practices, or sample applications.
Thanks so much,
Chaney

Great question @ChaneyComan! Let's see if our Compass members have some experience with this and application examples to share!

@ChaneyComan have you looked into the Center for Disaster Philanthropy's resources? They have some pretty great resources on their website available to anyone. Particularly, I'd suggest the Disaster Philanthropy Playbook which they created in partnership with the United Philanthropy Forum and the Council of New Jersey Grantmakers in 2016 - it's still relevant! https://disasterphilanthropy.org/signature-projects/disaster-philanthropy-playbook/
