Beyond COVID-19: Taking the next step
Hi y'all,
During last week's Coffee Talk on Thursday (4/30), one of the questions posed was what does the next step in COVID-19 response look like? For many of us on that call, there are no clear answers or even a direction to start looking for answers.
I wanted to try and continue the conversation here about what folx may be doing to move beyond immediate need responses. We are hearing from nonprofit partners who are struggling without their typical revenue sources and are unsure if they will be able to open their doors again once stay-at-home orders are loosened.
How are other grant-makers addressing the rising need for long-term solutions? What does the "recovery" process look like?
Thank you for your thoughts!
Best,

This is not an answer, and I hope it doesn't feel too promotional. We have a webinar about this so you're welcome to join. NCFP (National Center for Family Philanthropy) has a few upcoming open webinars on collaboration and grants including different responses, but this specific one shares from people who have done long-term disaster response, which I just think seems helpful. I liked the idea of speakers who have thought about a response years later and building community support or capacity.

The call is June 12th.
I hope it helps!
