Facilitating multiple scholarships with multiple schools
I am curious if there is anyone that works for a Community Foundation and facilitates scholarships with mulitple schools. I am interested in learning about your process as I am the only one who does scholarships and grants and I am trying to streamline processes.
We hold about 200 scholarships split amongst 22 schools. We have scholarships that are specific to certain schools within our county, some that are county-wide, and a few outside of our county based on donor's request. We are using SLM and using processes for now. We are looking at using the universal app, but it will be awhile before we decide to transition over.
I am interested in knowing your process for the following:
~ Communicating with Scholarship Committees (ours are specific per fund agreement)
~ Communicating the amount available for each scholarships to school counselor (right now we use a spreadsheet per school)
~ A place to upload documents instead of sending through email. (SLM doesn't allow this where only certain people can view the document)
~ Creating Certificates

We do the same. We work with about 15 schools over two counties but also have some outlier schools farther away.
Communicating with Scholarship Committees - our committees are either based at the school itself, as they do the choosing (which I would change but that's for another day) or are donor committees. We use email.
Communicating the amount available - our scholarships pay about the same every year. We send a spreadsheet called an eligiblity sheet for the county that has all the scholarships listed and the ballpark amount each one is worth
Uploading documents - we use email
Creating Certificates - my coworker makes those. I think she mail merges and feeds them through the printer. They have a green folder that she puts them in that makes them look a bit more formal.
There are a lot of things I would change, but this is how we do things now. I am also wondering if the Universe is the way to go.
